The conference will be held in the premises of the ENPC on the Marne-la-Vallée site near the RER train station Noisy-Champs. An access map can be found here (in french), and here (in english)

Pre-program of the BUFTOD2012 conference
"Building the urban future and Transit Oriented Development (BUFTOD) Rail and other modes, connecting with urban and regional development".
An international scientific and operational conference on TOD.
The BUFTOD conference is a dedicated arena for the debate on TOD, allowing the crossing of scientific disciplines and the associated approaches, exchanging on cases studies at the international level (in Europe, Americas, Asia ...). The BUFTOD 2012 conference will explore the role of rail and other trans -port modes in transit oriented development and the connection with spatial development at the urban and regional scales.

The plenary session on monday 17th April 2012 will be organised around a series of keynote speeches with:
- Robert Cervero University of California at Berkeley "A Panorama of TOD Principles & Experiences "
- Claude Soulas IFSTTAR-GRETTIA, "Evolution of he different transport modes to be taken into account for TOD, and combination with intermodality"
- Fernando Lozada Islas Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez "TOD & Smart Growth. A look at the Latin American experience"
- Gebhard Wulfhorst Technische Universität München and Alain L’Hostis IFSTTAR-LVMT "The Bahn.Ville approach of an urbanism oriented towards rail and intermodality, key findings of the French-German cooperation"
From the abstracts selected by the scientific committee, six sessions have been identified as follows:
A - Urban models, urban utopias and the city of tomorrow
B - Influence of TOD on transit use (mobility)
C - Location of activities, urban mix
D - Conception of public space and built environment for TOD
E - TOD applied to different territories : corridors, regions, and agglomerations
F - Transport systems in the context of TOD: rail, bus and intermodality
G - Planning the TOD, procedures and involvement of actors

ACCOMODATIONS
Options have been placed in five different hotels in order to facilitate your stay during the BUFTOD conference. You will find below details of the hotels with which we have negotiated preferential rates. Attention, the number of rooms reserved is limited in each of these hotels !
