European projet MOBI-MIX : « Improved implementation of shared mobility and MaaS to increase up-take of low-carbon transport in cities ».
Assessment framework for the urban mobility pilots set up by the partner cities.
18 months starting September 1st, 2020
Working with LVMT team
Created en 2003, the laboratory “Ville, Mobilité, Transport » (LVMT, or “City, Mobility, Transport”) is a joint lab between Ecole des Ponts, and Univ Gustave Eiffel. LVMT addresses the interactions between city and transportation. The city is dealt with in its largest sense (metropolitan areas, networks of cities…) as is transport: not only commuting movements but also those of the non-constrained type (e.g. leisure and tourism) are considered, as is freight movement within the city.
LVMT is a very dynamic multidisciplinary laboratory : its staff represents the fields of economics, sociology, applied mathematics, geography, urban planning, and political science, among others.
LVMT’s main campus is at Marne-la-Vallée, 20 mn from central Paris. Its secondary campus is at Lille, where the post doc will work.
Research projet: Mobi-Mix
The post doc will work on the European project Mobi-Mix, Interreg funded. Partners of the project are located in Belgium, France, the Netherlands and the UK. Hauts de France Region is supporting this research project.
The project MOBI-MIX will develop and source state-of-the-art public-private collaboration models for more effective implementation of micromobility and MaaS solutions, ultimately leading to a more liveable city. The objective is to reduce 365 tons of CO2 emissions by replacing 2.6 million fossil-fueled car-kilometers in the urban environment of 5 cities/regions: Rotterdam, Norfolk, Antwerp, Mechelen and Valenciennes.
Currently envisioned pilot experiments include mobility hubs (2), shared cars (1), and MaaS (2)
Key outputs of MOBI-MIX will include:
-
A handbook of the most promising PPP models for implementing Shared Mobility and MaaS
-
A decision-making framework for urban mobility planners of cities to integrate public-private collaboration models in their urban mobility planning strategies to ensure future uptake of more green, shared urban mobility- and MaaS solutions.
-
An insight paper with experts and key policymakers reflecting on project outcomes, lessons learned and best practices

Post doctoral task and profile
MobiMix Work Package n°1 (WP 1) has for aim to implement an assessment framework for the urban mobility pilots set up by the partner cities.
Your mission as a post-doct will be to contribute, together with researchers from Ghent University and Univ Gustave Eiffel (lvmt), to setting up this assessment framework. Cities develop sustainable mobility policies, and private mobility services providers may contribute to these goals; the issue is how to assess their contributions from the city perspective.
You may have to contribute to panel interviews in the 5 pilot experiment sites.
