Call for Papers

Since 1992, the annual meeting of the Euro Working Group on Transportation is a unique opportunity for attendants to share research results in analysing, monitoring, modelling, forecasting and decision aiding in transportation and logistics systems. The 15th meeting of the Euro Working Group on Transportation will focus on

Energy Efficient Transportation Systems

It will be held on september 10-12, 2012, in Cité Descartes, near Paris, France.

Contributions for all transportation modes are welcome, including road, railway, air and water, for both passengers and freight. Papers presenting innovative solutions for different transportation/logistics problems, in the light of energy efficiency, will be highly appreciated.

The program of the meeting will include the following topics:

  • Transportation Planning and Design
  • Transportation Policy (including land use and pricing)
  • Network Design and Maintenance
  • Traffic Management and Network Operations
  • Traffic Modelling and Control
  • Fleet Management and Transportation Sharing
  • Vehicle Routing and Travel Behavior
  • Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Intermodality and Hub Management
  • Operating Models for Electric/Hybrid Mobility
  • Modelling and Evaluation of Environmental Impacts
  • Reliability and Quality of service

The submission process comprises four steps.

  1. Authors submit a short abstract (300 words, text only) before February 15, 2012, via the submission web site (http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ewgt2012). Short abstracts are selected by the Scientific Committee.
  2. Authors of selected short abstracts are requested to submit papers (8-10 pages) by March 30, 2012.
  3. Papers are peer-reviewed. Reviewers comments are sent back to authors, along with a notification of acceptance (rejected, accepted, accepted with modifications) by April 30, 2012.
  4. Final version of accepted papers is due for May 30, 2012.

Selected papers will be published in special issues of well-known transportation journals including Transportation Research Part C,Part E, and others.
