About Paris

Paris is the capital of France and the country's largest city. It is located on the river Seine, in northern France. An important settlement for more than two millennia, Paris is today one of the world's leading business and cultural centers, and its influence in politics, education, entertainment, media, fashion, science and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the world's major global cities.

The city is split in twenty districts (arrondissements) and cut across by the Seine in two parts: left and right bank. Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with 45 million tourists every year. There are numerous iconic landmarks among its many attractions, along with world-famous institutions and popular parks such as Disneyland Resort Paris, which is 10 min by train (RER A) from the conference venue. The city is not a sprawling capital: it only takes barely two hours to cross the city by foot ... but the places to visit never end! More informations can be found at www.parisinfo.com.
